In mathematics, observation and intuition are not enough. Only a formal mathematical proof guarantees that a statement is true or false without exception. Proofs prevent false assumptions, build rigorous logical reasoning skills, and serve as building blocks for all of advanced mathematics. This course is Aa introduction to the concepts and methods of mathematical proof. Learn to read, write, and analyze formal logical arguments while exploring foundational topics including propositional logic, set theory, relations, functions, and mathematical induction.
